Our school

Churchill Primary School is set in a beautiful rural location within North Somerset. We have a modern, well-resourced building with seven classes. Outside we have attractive grounds and play areas.

We are looking for a team member who is enthusiastic, committed to inspiring a love of learning and has high expectations of themselves and pupils. Our motto, ‘With kind hearts and determined minds, we inspire each other to be the best we can be’ permeates all aspects of our school and we would expect the successful candidate to bring this commitment to their role in school.

In March this year, we had our Ofsted inspection.  Whilst we are still awaiting publication of the final report, we were very pleased with the outcome and felt the process captured the strengths of our school.

We see children as incredible and powerful learners.  Our team provide exciting learning experiences and challenges, which feed our children’s curiosity of the world and embrace their inquisitive nature, so that they are able to live life in all its fullness.

This is a two-day SENDCO post but could be combined with the three day a week class teacher role, to create a full time position (LSP-S157) advertised separately.

We are looking for:

  • an experienced SENDCO who is keen to take an active role in the leadership of the school;
  • is motivated by a sincere desire to do their very best for all pupils;
  • believes wholeheartedly in nurturing kind hearts and determined minds;
  • is passionate about inclusion and is committed to supporting all pupils to achieve;
  • is committed to working as part of team and excited to be part of the senior leadership team;
  • supports the Christian ethos of the school.

 In return our friendly, engaging school can offer:

  • A truly inclusive school where every member of the school community really matters
  • A strong, collaborative culture of hard-working, dedicated staff who support one another
  • Skilled and enthusiastic staff that are committed to further developing their practice
  • Caring and respectful pupils who are proud of their school and work with independence and enthusiasm
  • An opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our children and their families
  • A commitment to CPD opportunities
  • Warm relationships with the local community, supportive Governors and parents
